Redmond Sifu,
How long has Mr. Kennedy been a pupil of yours? When and were will your next southwestern seminar occur? Thanks in advance.

My first Canadian student was Chris Blake from Brampton who I met in NYC in 1998-99? I believe it was some time in 2001 that Ryan Kennedy became my student. He had been training with his former for a few years and made it to level 7. His Sifu left the school in T.O. so the students were left without a Sifu. Ryan and Ted Tchortov came to a seminar at my school in Detroit. Since I live in Detroit and travel to Canada every weekend Sifu Cheung told them if they were interested in continuing their TWC training to learn from me. So basically I was assigned to be their Sifu by my Sifu. Ryan has since taken his Sifu test with Sifu Wm. Cheung and passed. Ryan's kwoon is moving to a new facility. As soon as he's setup in the new place we'll announce the seminar date. It will probably be mid Feb.

Hi Jeff,
Yes, I've heard of Sunny Tang. I think He's in Scarborough. He's a student of Moy Yat, one of my former Sifus from years ago. I've never met him but I know his student Sifu Augustine Ngu in Missisagua.

My sifu has studied with Sonny Tang for several years and has some funny stories about him. I have no personal experince with him but from what I heard he teaches a good system. So any of his students will probably be a good source.

Hey phil this is a bit off topic but I am curious to how long you have studied wing chun, and how many different lineages have you studied under?

I went to your website the other day for the first time and I like the pictures with the center line theroy applied to them with photoshopping.

34 years non-stop and 3 lineages in that time. I have been with Sifu Cheung for almost 21 years.

That is a long time. Maybe someday if I am ever up your way I can stop by and see your kwoon.

Good luck with your continued long training.

Hey Phil:

Sounds like your keepin' busy. That's a good thing !

By the way - I just noticed (for the first time) that under your photo by your signature it says that you're in Detroit, Michigan...BUT ORIGINALLY FROM BROOKLYN.

You know what they say:

"You can take the guy out of Brooklyn but you can't take the Brooklyn out of the guy..."

You know it Victor. Got to give props to Brooklyn.
