Does anyone have any good training excersises that helps with pacing yourself. I notice when I train and spar I have a tendency to exert myself too quikly. I dont know if goin in for the kill to fast or what.

I know using a stopwatch for 2 min rounds is one way.

Any thing else I could be doing.

I do that, too. I'm interested in what people have to say.

Like I posted earlier in the other running thread, I do:

Recent HR data shows I have mins of mid 150's, highs of low to mid 170's and averages of low to mid 160's over 5 mins at the age of 30. I do it with sprints/walks for 20/10 intervals. You could do it with heavy bag etc for more specific training, although I find a lot of carryover to MA cardio fitness. I dunno how long I could keep going for, but I reckon at least 10 min. That's with close to maximum effort, although I could always squeeze out a bit more. I tend to go fast for the 1st sprint, 95% for the next, then about 80-85% until the last, when I'm back to 90-100% effort (although much less speed than the 1st).
