hey dude
paintors do NOT get the wimmins
at least 99,9% of them dont

unless you are a specialist on one color only paintings
more specificly painting only with white color
like that paintor guy... Ron Jeremy i think it was

Can I get a vote for being able to delete posts from threads you created?

Awesome, CSN. Congrats. On both your good news, and making the thread that went the most awry the quickest thus far this year.

As for painters and women, it's one of the few careers where you work with nude people in school and earn credit for it.

Thanks, KC, and that's absolutely true. The nude models are definitely a double-edged sword, though. Some are hot, some are - well, "not" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Congrats, CSN.

The whole drawing nude people reminds me of Family Guy

"Am I...am I supposed to draw the pen15?"

"Am I...am I supposed to sculpt the pen15?"

Am I...am I supposed to conduct with my pen15?"

If you've seen that episode you'll understand what I'm talking about.

sorry, didn't spell the name right...'Feininger'

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&q=Lyonel+Feininger

I've only got one print, this one:

http://vintage-art-posters.junglewalk.com/Sailboats-1929-Poster-354890.asp

:) never paid attention to the artist, just bought the print after I got back from my one and only sailing trip and liked it.

moved in with the artist girlfriend and she was like "That's nice, he's pretty famous"

Kugler is tougher. I can't find anything either. Sometime in the early 90's I saw a painting by what turned out to be a father and son team. The son did airbrush space scenes which his father painted geometric shapes in very vibrant colors. sounds like crap but it worked for me.

I used to have a link to their website but it must have been several years and computers ago. At the time they weren't doing prints so they were way out of my price range.

Oso - thanks for the details, I'll be trying to find out more

KL - Wow, it certainly does!

MK - Ever watch this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6302889650/103-6497007-5074236?v=glance)? It's got some nice interview footage of Motherwell, not to mention Warhol, Frankenthaler, Stella, Johns, De Kooning, Newman, and so on. It rawks.

CSN, no problem. I'm gonna be looking for the Kugler stuff as well now that I might be able to afford something.

To elaborate a little bit:

The airbrush work was kind of soft looking spacey stuff then the father painted over it in...maybe oil...something at any rate that was thick and gave texture to the picture.

I'll let you know if I find a link or source.
