The great thing about Wing Chun is ;you can improve forever.
The day you will get at Sigung's level,he will be even better!....
I heard Master Ho is still a mean chisauer!...
Anyway,I'm glad to see that your school is going so well. Keep on the good work.:)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Sigung) Ho Kam Ming is not taking on any new classroom students currently. He taught a good core of young people in Toronto after moving to Toronto from Macao/HK- so it is upto all the people he has personally taught and in turn their students ( and their students)
to carry on the development and evolution of wing chun.

In addition to those newer ones in Toronto and older ones in Macao his students in the US include Augustine Fong, Buddy Wu and NTC who is on this list. His students are always carefully taught and have their own individualities. No robotics there.

Regarding chi sao- from the time thathe began his wing chun till
Ip Man became ill in his last years- Master Ho regularly did chi sao
with Ip Man.- in addition to learning forms, principles and applications in great detail.

His control of timing and people in chi sao is a
great standard. He paid personal attention to his students whether they wanted to learn wing chun for personal development, for teaching or for full contact work. The respect for him by his students and those who know him is great to watch.

Given the thinning of the ranks of people who learned directly and personally from Ip Man and his own knowledge- Ho Kam Ming is a real wing chun and kung fu treasure.

after taking that picture, they all rushed back to their Mah Jong tables to have their clan "entertainment" (which you may call it "war"). :D

of course, there are always "politics" involved on Mah Jong tables.

Old Jong- I have not seen the videos because i depend on Quick Time not windows player or whatever is involved...unfortunately...but I have a sense of the skills that are likely to be on the video..

So- again- I miss out on a video.

Old Jong: <g>

ed: Thanks for putting the pics up.

Some of you may remember the video of
Jeff Bolt's kung fu tourney in Orlando several years ago.
The video was playeda couple of times on national TV-
dont remember the channel..

There was a brief very good moving chi sao demo by Master Fong and a partner.

Among other demo videos floating around-I think ed has seen it-
and I was there--- of one handed chisao--- moving and lat sao and locks and knees-when he came to Phoenix during a kung fu tourney.
One shoulder was bothering him at that time so out came single handed spontaneity.

Then there is one of those old pre Panther videos where there is
after lion dancing- a fun demo of a street fight scene with Danny Chan and him being attacked bya gang. It was fun- at the Tucson community center.

I think that old video also has him lion dancing- where he jumps
with the big lion head on to a fairly high table, than jumped on the edges of a bowl on top of the table- then for the finale picking up the bowl with one foot and kicking it to the accompanying "fut" person with a fan on the stage.

The partner was Tony Frighetti! One of the quiet forces of Wing Chun! A very nice guy BTW
He's coming to Ottawa this summer for a seminar.
