I bought a 100 pound boxing bag a while ago but I have nowhere to hang it. I've looked around for a heavy stand but couldn't really find any. The wall brackets are good but I'm afraid it would bring down my brick-veneer house (I've heard of cases where people's garages came crashing down).

Recently I though of buying an outdoor swing set and hanging it from that. Any other ideas?

Hi

I had similar problem with hanging a bag at my home. Luckily, my brother is a welder and he manufactured a stand for me.

Basically, it used parts of the standard wall bracket and welded these to a steel box section (for the vertical). This was then welded to a base plate with holes drilled at each corner. Drilled holes into concrete floor then used fixing bolts to attach to floor. Also used some epoxy in the bolt holes to make sure bolts were firmly set into floor.

I don't have a photo to post but I suggest asking around for any welders that may be available to make you something.

I located mine in the corner of the garage facing at a 45 degree angle towards the center.

Hope this helps

Paul

Here's one for $149 that holds up to a 100lb bag. (http://store.titleboxing.com/freesproheav.html)

I've seen the $149 ones before. They're ok but would like more room to move around. The $900 is more of what I'm looking for only that I don't have that kind of cash.

I was thinking of building my own but I have no equipment/materials. Thanks for the ideas though.
