DOES the senior student stand to the left or the right of the Sifu. Where does the SI-DAI and the SI-HING stand. What is the tradtional significants of teacher disciple pictures. I was told that based on the way the Sifu sits shows whether some or all teachings are open to disciples and students...??/

Someone please elaborate>>>>
Thanx

sifu sits, the student stands in most bai see photos.

there are lots of pics of students standing and their sifu standing next to them.

I really think the traditions regarding this practice are completely dependent on the sifu and his school. THere is no set way to be a disciple to a master.

You are, or you are not. NOt even sure if a photo is required at all. These protocols really are an individual school thing. Sometimes one school will immitate another or carry on a practice from before.

I've heard that if the Sifu's legs are open, then the student was taught everything; but, if the legs are closed, the student was not able/worthy of being taught the complete style.

mk-

that may be true...of one style, maybe more, but there is no generally accepted way of doing it that crosses over all styles.

thing about kungfu is, there is no single way of doing things, there is only the right way to do it :D

bai see is different in every school. Only the superficial has some similarity.

The tradition and mumble is as old as who had the camera and the access to develope the picture.

This photo discussion is about the money shot. A status to be able to charge students more or a magnet to draw the cult student in.

Open leg or close leg?????????????????????????? Maybe they the thinking to be lucky that night.

Choy Fook, Leung Jann, Wong Fei Hung?

No picture of them means their student learn nothing?????????
