It is very short notice, but my Bagua teacher, Dr. Kinglsey Fong, has just brought Grandmaster Ma Chuan Xu out from Beijing to Sydney. Grandmaster Ma is the current head of the Liang Shi style of Bagua, whose qualifications are rather extensive, and really do proceed him.

Grandmaster Ma is currently holding an intensive training course (which started on Monday, and is finishing up on Friday), and will also be giving a special introductory seminar at the University of NSW this coming Sunday.

The cost for the seminar is $100 per person, but if enough people attend, this will be reduced to $80.

The course itself will open with an introductory to Bagua and its theory(ies). Then, participants will be taught the foundation exercises for internal training, which include the downward palm & circle walking of bagua.

During the seminar, Master Ma, with the assitance of Kingsley Fong serving as translator, will be correcting & helping every participant personally. There will also be plenty of opportunities for q & a's.

The later half of the seminar will consist of the chin na (grappling/joint locking) apsects of the the Bagua system being taught and explained in full detail, and as they apply to practical and efficient combat.

At the end of the seminar, there will be be more opportunities for q & a's, photo's with Ma and the other participants, and the traditional after training drinks.

To continue on GM Ma's teachings, Dr Kingsley Fong will be setting up a weekly Bagua class within Sydney, at a location yet to be decided. These classes will most likely be held on Sunday Mornings, somewhere in the city. He will also be attempting to establish loose training groups throught the different regions of Sydney, so that students can continue to study and train amongst themselves freely.

Dr Kingsley Fong, also teaches Hunyuan Taijiquan on behalf of Grand Master Feng Zhi Qiang of Bejing. There are plans in the works to bring him over from Bejing at the later half of this year.
