I just recently moved to the Riverside area, from L.A., and have not been able to find any real martial arts in this area. There are alot of schools, but nothing that I'm looking for. I am a beginner, and would really appreciate it if anyone can let me know if there is any real Wing Chun training in this part of Ca. I would also be interested in any quality Bagua or Hsing-I. Thanks alot.

I think you can always make it to LA in less than an hour from your new location. I train currently with Gary Lam Sifu and he's in Monterey park which is not far over the weekend. Very fun and exciting stuffs all the time depending on how much you want to stomach the rich offerings.

An excellent directory (http://www.wingchun.org/txt/schools/usa/index.html) for doing your own leg work. Good luck in your search.

Yellowpages (http://phonebook.superpages.com/yellowpages/C-Martial+Arts+&+Self+Defense+Instruction/S-CA/T-Riverside,San+Bernardino/) If some of these places had web pages it would be easer for you. I lived in Moreno valley for about 8 yrs. Studied at two places USKO, don't laugh. and a kick boxing school on the south side of MV. Both were fun and I meet new people but neither were combat. Good luck on your search.

Also, Paul H. was right. Gary Lam would certainly be worth traveling an hour to study with. Besides we all know L.A. is renowned for its excellent public transportation systems. :p

From my own lineage, there is an excellent school in Alhambra:

Family: Leung Sheung
Instructors: Sifu Wong Siu

Ten minutes east of downtown Los Angeles in Alhambra.
