Does the Jeong Hung Sing lineage use a 3 or 9 section whipchain?

I'm surprised no one's responded to this, yet.

CLFNole will be able to give you a more accurate answer, but in the Lee Koon Hung lineage, we have forms for both the 3-section staff and the 9-section chainwhip...but these were added later on down the line (influenced by Northern CMA).

I think our original weapons were simply staff, spear, and broadsword. Everything else was an add-on...at least this is what I heard.

But I'm talkin outta my ass. CLFNole'll give ya the real deal.

hello. in the lau bun lineage we use double three sectional chain whips, as does the futsan school in china.

Lee Koon Hung's lineage is both from the Chan Hueng side and the Jeong Hung Sing side, so I couldn't exactly say which side the forms came from, but our CLF has a 9-section whip form and a double 3-section whip form.

The 9-section whip and 3-section staff form your are referring to from Shek Kin are passed on through our line, however there is a CLF 9-section whip and a CLF 3-section staff.

i just wanted to say that "i believe" all true southern styles use 3 link chain whips.

it is the northern and wu su styles that use 7 links or 9 links.

personally i feel that 3 links are best.

but in Professor lau Buns hung sing kwoon we strictly use 3 links.
