Hmmm. Weapons are usually a no-no at most psychiatric institutions. And I see they must have a sewing room.

The secret of the ninja is wearing a bright red belt and knee-high tabi over your everyday clothes to render yourself completely invisible.

That's how you know these guys are fakes. They tied their belt with the wrong knot, so you can see them.

I always thought using the word "ninja" anywhere implied falseness.

This is true. When I wear my ninja suit I can walk though town and no one makes eye contact, infact most people look in the other direction.....I am invisible.

the ninja turtles are fakes too. It's common knowledge that all ninja are mammals.

Ah, but the ninja turtles were taught by a rat. Rats are well documented mammals. I personaly belive that splinter (? is that right) held back most of the ninja secrets from the turtles because he does racism against reptiles.

I remember hearing years ago that Ninja suits out sold karate suits for this one trader. He said somthing like if you look at how many ninja clubs there are x30 to get a high estimate of student numbers he was still selling 10 times the number of suits than there were students per year (all numbers aproximate as I read it a few years ago).

There are lots of guys who sit at home pretending to be ninja.

Not sure if you guys realize this or not but amongst teh modern ninja community and its "scholars" *giggle*, they are certain that the sword we believe to be the "ninja sword" (straight blade, square guard) was created in the 80's ninja craze and never an actual weapon.

which makes sense.. hey look at that sword. that guy's a ninja!

the 80's were great.. rocking the karate kid bandana, wearing camo tabi boots, watching bloodpsort and practicing my helicopter spinning kicks.

and I had to ruin it all by growing up..

In fact some scholars are now suggesting that the ninja were nothing more than samurai that had specialised training in espionage skills, and were far from the mystical/invincible creatures (mammals even) that the 80's craze made them out to be.
