Hi KJ, unfortunately I did respond, (for the last time), and you're right. There's no need for anyone to go there. This forum and some others have moderators to keep people civil.

Phil,

We have only one life to live and it cannot be always chasing after every outlandish lies. It's good however that you choose openess from heart to heart when dealing with friends or enemies.

It is unclear to me what you are asking. Please disregard this entire post if you meant something else.

The offical Ving Tsun Athletic Association (VTAA) domain is VINGTSUN.ORG.HK

The domain VINGTSUN.COM.HK is actually owned by a Jun Fan Jeet Kuen Do group. However, based on what displays at the website under that domain, it appears that it is managed by someone working with Tsui Shong Tin. Also, the site content still appears to be mostly left overs from the old VTAA website which used to be under that domain from about two+ years ago. Regardless, the outdated content is because of the laxity of the webmaster of that site, not because anything to do with the VTAA.

The VINGTSUN.COM domain is owned by Keith Kernspecht of the European Wing Tsun Organization. The website at this domain is really a "doorway" site which points to a website under the domain WINGTSUNWELT.COM

Boring techno-bable procrastination follows:

The top level domains of .HK and .COM are distinct from one another. Quite a few other top level domains exist. Sub-domains under each top level domain are purchased and controlled separately. In the case of .HK, the controlling body chose to further stratify potential registrants into several second-level domains. Thus, third level domains .COM.HK and .ORG.HK are also purchased and controlled separately.

Once a domain at the allowed sub-level is purchased, how the owners decide to use it is up to them. Technically, each level further can point to a different address (or the same one if desired) all under the control of the owner. They can choose to set up a website at the the common http://www.mydomain.com and point http://mydomain.com to the same location. Or, they can set up a website at http://something.like.a.ridiculously.long.list.of.sub.dom ains.mydomain.com:248 - it's up to the owner of the domain (in this example, MYDOMAIN.COM).

Hi Tom,

Excellent explanation of domains and such. Thanks, from someone tired of internecine feuding, for nipping a large misunderstanding in the bud.

Yeah thanks Tom,

That forum above is nuts there are people trying to call out challenges to master augustine fong, how ridiculous is that?

I tried searching for some offical wing chun websites from other countries as well and found a lot of stuff like that. I was a bit confused myself when I first read this thread.

Actually quite self evident to a considerable and laughable degree.

Sorry to bring this back up but i'm curious - what's the relationship between the VTAA and the Wing Chun Kung Fu Council? Both of which seem to have Ip Ching in them (?)

Thanks :)
