My wife and I are preparing an article on the history and development of Crane Boxing. The article will cover both its development in China and Taiwan. I am starting to collect up materials for the article. I already have two Chinese language sources: Feeding Crane Boxing by Liu Gu and Su Li Zhang as well as Fukien Crane Fist Secrets by Li Dai Luan. I am awaiting the (soon) release of a set of six Crane Boxing manuals by a local Taiwanese publisher (Lion Books). So that is the sources I have looked into so far.

I was wondering if anyone had studied any of the different forms of Crane Boxing either here in Taiwan or on the mainland?

Does anyone have any recommendations for written sources (books, web sites; in either Chinese or english) on Crane Boxing?

Take care,
Brian Kennedy
