anyone read the qi article in the new issue? One of the tips was abut how your armpits and your i guess inner thigh where your leg meets torso is where alot of qi comes from. I have found this to be true.

Probably why you keep space between the arms and armpits, and why you relax the kua ( hips) and groin

Dr. Reid is an interesting writer and that article was the third in a three part series. Part three was in our Mar Apr 2004 (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=453). Part one and two were in Sep Oct 2002 (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=235) and Nov Dec 2002 (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=236) respectively. You'll find a lot of his work on our e-zine - he covers martial arts films for us. He has a film project coming out soon - watch the ezine for more.

I don't think a lot of qi comes from there at all. However the Kua are major areas which can stagnate a lot of qi to the main limbs and thus hold up the whole process of getting the limbs involved in circulation, but as a whole these areas don't produce qi at all, they are conduits to facilitate the transportation of it.
