Some guy in a nearby town claims to be a Grandmaster of this system. Any ideas what this is?

judging by a flyer that i glanced by, it is in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Grandmaster Terry Lee. He said he won secret Lei Tei matches in China and defeated shaolin Monks in a temple. I'm not kidding.

I'll try to find the flyer. I can't find any info on the web.

This should be good :D

If he claims to do Lama, ask him who his sifu is and which brother his lineage comes through

If he does Lama, ask him how many footwork patterns he has and can he NAME THEM...

Oh, I could just go on, but chances are he is just yet another FRAUD who thinks us gwai loh are so stupid

Anybody can claim to be anything, and it is not a crime to develop your own karate or kung fu system. It is unethical to misrepresent and lie. Why not make an appointment to talk to the guy and to show you what his system entails. If he is a fraud, the astute person will pick up on it. Inquire about techniques, philosophy, and see if the guy claims that the spirit of a dead kung fu master appeared to him with revelations (I talked to a guy who claimed this). I would think the conversation and observations will reveal if he has any substance.

Yutyeesam,

is your avatar a picture of a chipmonk taking a rip???
If so, you've just won the award for coolest avatar and I nominate you for the best friend of woodland creatures award.

Big deal about beating Shaolin monks. I beat Superman, Batman, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin and the Green Hornet. I also want to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge, and a used car.

So far, he's just spouting a bunch of unverifiable crap...

Ask him the questions that LKFMDC mentioned.

rubthebuddha: You might want to study water moccasin and gator kung fu, because you might need it on that property. Other than that you'll love the beach there. Make sure you don't relax too much and keep your eyes open when you put down that beach towel.

So...... "Tibetan Master Lama Li Gampo"? Ooookay. And he's a master of Dim Mak and has 3 third-degree black belts in Karate.

You don't want none of THAT whoop-ass Sifu Ross! He might Dim Mak you! :p :p

actually, I need to point out just how big a clown this guy really is

"Li Gam Po" (actually Lei Gam Pau in Cantonese) is an alias for Sing Lung, who died in the 1870's.... I'm sure this guy learned with Sing Lung

It's that "mind-flow chi gung" that he does. Keeps him young and strong well into his hundreds. :D (As he reads this thread and thinks "Dam, who is this lkfmdc guy? No one was 'sposed to know that!" :D ).

Well don't you know, with his secret techniques, he extended his lifespan to....

Oh wait, Cerberus beat me to it.

Still, must be pretty spry to be teaching at the age of 150 or so.

I think Cerberus misses BL. :D  ;)

Seriously, I ran a google search for "Shao Lama". It lead me to some Illinois Law student's resume and that's about it. "Grandmaster Terry Lee" leads to no hits at all. It's too bad, guys like this often have hillarious websites.

I think I should defend Grandmaster Terry Lee........judging by all the BS on the flyer I think he probably needs it...
