Lau Gar

If I remember my stories correctly, Lau Gar, when it was a separate style unincorporated with HG, consisted of only three sets - two hand and one staff. Supposedly the originator of the style de-emphasized set learning and emphasized sparring and training with resisting partners and simplification and streamlining of applications. Pretty "modern" for 150 years ago! Does anyone have any confirmation on this story (I don't remember where I heard it- it was either one my friends or in an article). Also, why exactly did it diminish (in number) as a separate art?

The above site is for the official British version of Lau Gar, there is still the version still taught in Hong Kong and Mainland China which is very different.

I beleve at one time the China version was taught in Belgium, am not 100% certain on this.
