i watched a funny tv show yesterday. Called 'Britains Hardest', its supposed to be some of the hardest blokes in britain fighting it out to be no.1, i only saw 10 mins of the end of it, so i cant really pass much comment. Surfice to say that it didnt have the usual karate guys on, these were just tough cookies from the streets.

so anyway, in one scene, two guys were fighting on a raised dias, the object being to push their opponent off the dias, best of 3 rounds. the rules were:
no head shots
no elbows at all
no kicks

the funny thing was the voice over. when the two guys had locked up and were wrestling to push ech other over the voic over said "now they are too close for punchs" i laughed so much my rib hurt. in a contest where you could strike their arms, back, chest, legs, groin, throw them, lock them, twist em up... and all they did was try to shove each other around. funny.

has anyone seen any more of this tv show? did anyone show off any skill? i think your average BJJ guy would appear to be the 'hardest' under their rules..

Probably "The Guv'nor" Lenny MacLean, and Gary Spiers RIP (though the latter was really a Kiwi).

Oh that and an assortment of SAS troopers and commandos we'll never hear of.

the SAS definitely.
all our british technology always seems to be SNAFU, but the backbone and stiff upper lip never is.

Anyone who has been on the buisness end of Simeon's tan-sao has felt Briton's Hardest.

Simeon who?

....

There's an obvious joke about British porn stars (assuming there are any with the "No Sex Please We're British" demeanor foised on us by some) to be made here, but I'm not going to be the one to stoop to that level ...
