Our membership just crossed 6000. Of course, many sign up and never post, but it nice to see that big fat number for members. Thanks for all your support. And keep telling your friends.

It seems to me that 600 would be more like it, if not too high an estimate. There must be a looooot of people who don't post! (Not that I don't think such a fine e-establishment would not merit quadruple that number)

well some people aren't equipped to handle the antics of many of you yahoos. lol

This is the way it is in most societies. That's why ballots are secret! So people don't have to expose what they really feel or really think.

And then we have real leaders, who aren't afraid at all to go against the grain of convention.

Then we also have people who just plain don't get it and wander in here to ask where the bathroom is and get mugged. :D even though there is a clear sign stating "if you ask where the bathroom is as your first question, you will be mugged"

Man, I have seen some archtypes here though, heck, I've even been one now and again!

I remember when there was only 600 of us and the board looked like a hilroy notepad. anyone else remember that?

cheers

I remember when they didn't allow Canadians on the board.

come on mk, you and me, back to back and toe to toe against all these fairies whining about how we won't fight them cause our skills is too deadly :D

ha ha, well, we don't have to be in the the ring, let's just take em all out. They're like ninjas anyway and don't know how to attack all at the same time, so one by one is easy.

lol

anyway, I agree with that. 2000 points to shaolinlueb for bringing it up.

I'm one of those guys who posts about once every month or so who's been a member forever... :o

Every now and then I read something and type out a response, then erase it when I realize that I really don't have the time to explain/defend my position with 100+ follow ups.

KL - " I remember when there was only 600 of us and the board looked like a hilroy notepad."

I remember back on the old KFO servers passing through some VERY ugly colors that hurt my eyes...that was when I first started nosing around these parts. I can even remember when Watchman used to post...and not just "<fill in the blank> is correct."
And rogue would post things just to stir up trouble...wait a minute...some things never change. :)

If you look through our members (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/memberlist.php?), you'll find an astonishing amount of members who've never posted, or who have only poseted once or twice. I have a theory that some people think that they can't read the forum unless they sign up. I know that sounds absurd, since they have to read it in order to sign up, but I base this theory on observation. A lot of members will immediately email us after signing up (nevermind the waiting period for approval) and they say that they want to become a member so they can read the forums. It's a surpisingly high number of applicants that do this. Go figure.

David Jamieson

don't be surprised about that gene, i would have to concur with that belief of yours.

I know people that believe bad things will happen if they walk while the red hand light is still on! :D

I also know people that would likely breath only 42 breaths every 2 minutes if there was a bulletin on tv that said you had to do that.

I've heard of people who actually sealed their rooms with duct tape because of an orange bar next toe the weather report in the "jumble" newscreen. :D

It's true, I'll bet those sign up folks are just playing it safe so they don't get the emails that say:

You should NOT have read those posts that you read at KungfuMagazine.com because you were not signed up! Now return those posts from inside your head immediately

hmmm, hey anyone wanna play a joke on someone?

We have already seen that this selectionally introduced contextual feature suffices to account for a corpus of utterance tokens upon which conformity has been defined by the paired utterance test. It must be emphasized, once again, that the systematic use of complex forums can be defined in such a way as to impose a stipulation to place the constructions into these various categories. Comparing these examples with their parasitic gap counterparts in (96) and (97), we see that an important property of these three types of EC is not subject to nondistinctness in the sense of distinctive feature theory. This suggests that a case of membership of a different sort raises serious doubts about irrelevant intervening contexts in selectional rules. Notice, incidentally, that the appearance of parasitic gaps in domains relatively inaccessible to ordinary extraction is unspecified with respect to the requirement that branching is not tolerated within the dominance scope of a complex symbol....You see?...;)

speaking of which, OJ is from french canadia! ;)

Gene -- what are your thoughts about nixing accounts that have had no activity in ... three years? that'll kill off at least 35 of xebby's accounts, and numerous of those ones with 0 posts. 6000 sounds like a lot of users until you realize that at least 58 percent of the posts these days are MK taunting red5 about his mom.

First of all, going through and deleting all those old inactives is a bit of a pain. They don't take up very much space on the server, not nearly as much as some of the long-winde posts some of your heavy hitters make now and again.

Secondly, I like the inflated number - makes us sound really, really big and according to all that viagra/cialis spam I get, really big is what it's all about. Size matters.

Thirdly, it's a free country, or rahter a free internet, you can have as many account as you want - as long as they all order regularly from www.martialartsmart.com ;)

well, theyre right

though say i must, i really am considering getting "professional help" on this genital issue.
its cos through mma forums you find some interesting stuff... i found a site that details "test drives" with ratings and all of some chicks some dudes have tested from some a bunch of local... "houses"
its mostly young girls, a bunch of them uni students, some are really expensive others not that much, some can come to your house others you gotta go there, i found it awesome is that some of them are nice and actually kiss in the mouth - putting down the old rule of prostitutes never kissing that was widely known.
the cool thing i think is one can look at a bunch o pics o the chick before choosing thanx to the internet
since they put their catalogues online and all with the chicks cell numbs

"Some say im gangsta, some say im crazy, if you X me i say Im what the hood made me" - 50 Cent

It sucks to be a loser, but if thats how the world is taking me i might as well do my worst, u know
And i dont even like 50 Cent much
