Nah, either way, hilarious.
Just for slightly different reasons.

jesse james would NEVER give props to a freakin segway.
ergo, that article is for the humour column.
also there is no David P. Garfinkle in the command staff of the LAPD
see: http://www.lapdonline.org/ then look at the organization chart to see who ranks and what dept they head.
I would also like to add that the LAPD is working with an outreach program on an anti gang motion right now and they were up here in Toronto helping out our police department with some of their insights into the matter. We are having similar problems facing us now a days.
They have perhaps what could be considered the best slogan I have heard in a long time in regards to youth violence and gang violence in general and that slogan is:
"Nothing stops a bullet like a job"
I like this one:
Nothing stops a bullet like someone's @$$."

Fake
True gangsters cannot afford segways...
Picture it: a segwey with 20" rims.

the only ways jesse james would give props to a segue would be if it either transformed into a party boat, or it had a bunch of tattoos.

the segue was pwn3d by something else (http://www.runningbarefoot.org/Images/RunningBareFeet.gif) long before maddox came to be.

Well, technically, it was pwned before it got made then since those have been around for thousands of years.
