If you are thinking about San Shou/San Da training, then you need to know that the Beijing Sanshou/Sanda program moved from the Physical Culture Instititute to the Beijing Shi Shahai Sports School. Hope this browser can read Chinese?

Yes Shi Cha Hai , is where I have spent many many years. I first went in 1984 and Have been traveling back and forth ever since- It has gone through so many changes over the years- Yu ge bou is one of the San Da coaches, his skills are extraordinary- Early in the mornings you can hear the walls shaking as he is kicking a tree leaning against the stadium walls. However the training is awsome for what ever your goals are- it is a sports complex.

Good luck!

Sincerely

Beijing school of physical education (something like that).. I popped in there and just missed the modern Wushu team practise. It was a big complex with swimming pools, badminton areas etc. Oh and you could buy weapons in a store outside, chain whips and stuff.

Yes it is a hugh complex. In the early 80's it was run by Wu-Bin and coaches were of the original team- It was much cruder by looks as well- Everything you see today like the Shi Cha Hai Hotel and various buildings were all built in the last 7 or 8 years. Wu Bin has retired and owns an Institute on the other side of town (Beijing)- Before he was called back (he tryed to retire in 1993 and 94) and had a school across the street from Shi Cha Hai. It was in a soccer Stadium. They demolished the stadium and built a hotel. Wu-Bins school is also a very good place (obviously) to train also you would find it less expensive than the state run schools.

I do love that city, its like my back yard. Also the girls are great. I am looking forward to going and visiting with my friends there- I have not seen them in 4 years now (Since my divorce) Now I have reason to go back. I will be taking the international judging exam this summer.

Sincerely
Sifu John
