my guess is this video has been doctored since we all know hook kicks don't really work.

JEEZUS!!! That was beautiful. Back in the day Pat Smith was definitely a bonafide bada$$. Undoubtedly one of the most well-rounded and learned strikers in early MMA.

im not saying his kick isnt powerful, the guy probably hurt himself more falling off that stage then the kick lol. but yeah he got it handed to him.

I liked Pat Smith a lot back in the day. If he only learned how to grapple he wouldn't have been owned by Shamrock and Royce. That KO he had of the ninjitsu dude is nuts. I think it's on sherdog's "knockouts of the UFC" video.

post their inflated view of things like this "'uhh he wasnt hurt really from that kick,,he hurt himself falling off stage"

uhh did you see the side thrist kick that landed right in the other guys stomach stunning him? and come on puhleeez. that hook kick bashed him right in the temple. you ever been hit in the temple? besides it being dangerous it hurts and knocks you silly.

score 1 for black belt jones
score nada for the karate kid.

It is no good to back up straight. The opponent could follow up with another attack .

Say three times!...;) :D

He hit his head on the ground because he was merely stunned?
