little know historical fact:

That knock-kneed pigeon stance was not for self defense. It just provided a stable upright position for opium addicts.

I was on straight morphine for 2 weeks when my appendix ruptured (didn't go to the hospital until 4 days later). That stuff was hard to shake. I can see how people get addicted. I could feel the difference when they started weening me off the drip and I was crabby as hell for about a month after that.

I personally can't stand morphine.

I was on it for a few days after my last surgery, and it really messed me up. I was so dried up, my lip split in the middle. I got it intravenously and could feel it burn in my vein on the way in. That stuff is nasty.

I never know this type of shyte, but what is the correlation between opium and wing chung?

Also, MP, sucks your injury/surgery was so close to the pan ams. A few folks at my school did pretty well, but one of our better purple belts could not attend due to an acl injury a few months back. Good luck in your rehab.

oxycodone (not to be confused with oxycontin) is the new crack on the streets. Pharmacies are being broken into just for oxycodone, some pharmacies will put up signs saying they don't fill prescriptions for oxycodone just so they won't get robbed.

you're a little confused. oxycontin is just a brand name for time release oxycodone.

oxycodone's been around for years. the reason oxycontin got so widely available is because the huge demand for it. the time release prevented getting a rush.

only thing is, when you crush it up, it is just like regular old oxycodone, so if you're disposed to abusing opiates, you can abuse it just fine.

what does oxycodone do and why is it the new "crack" on the streets?

sc107,

it's an opiate/opioid, like fentanyl, heroin, hydrocodone, morphine, etc. analgesic, cough suppressant are the primarily useful effects.

downshots include nausea, constipation, fast tolerance development esp, with high dosage and chronic use, sense of euphoria leading to abuse potential.

opiates are one of the few classes of drugs where the withdrawl CAN actually kill you. they are also, unlike just about every other drug on the planet, physically addictive.
