Greetings,

It seems that the elbow position in wing chun plays a very important role. Such things as distance from the body, a power source, reinforcement to the body come from elbow position. Also in the three seed hands of WC ( tan sao, bong sao, fook sau) the elbow plays a important part as well as body structure. When i practice sil lum tao or my wing chun i am constantly being aware of my body structure and elbow positioning. What have you guys seen in body structure and elbow position in your WC practice?

Humbly yours
Johnny

Its improtant for a strong structure. if your elbow is not on the yin line then your structure is distorted and weak.

One who has two roots becomes a stronger tree.

Greetings,

BFD, could you please inform me more about the yin line and what is does as far as WC is concerned?

Humbly asking

I am not a WC practitioner...

Other traditional CMAs characterize WC as having great "elbow jin", not sure of the cantonese for jin. Pinyin jin = refined strength (li).

Elbow energy = real important.

Just my two cents...
