Assuming that isnt an engineered photo with that guy thats doing the gouging simply just bending his thumb in at the first joint.....then I'd have to say I feel sorry for the guy who no longer has a left eye.

I'm sure he still has his eye. If you read the blurb under the pic, he also won the fight.

WD, you beat me to it. A few lessons to learn here.

I thought an eye gouge was supposed to render him useless... How did he still win??

Why did a grappler use an eye gouge??

Was it easier for the grappler to eye gouge, as he was in closer proximity to his opponent??

I gotta say though, that looks pretty darn uncomfy.

fascinating. i told a story here once about how i finished (and won) a wrestling match after a similar incident, and was roundly shouted down or told i must be a "tough guy."

funny stuff...

why would an eye gouge render you useless? Blind in one eye maybe but hardly useless.

A friend of mine was suspended from Fresno State (1995 or so)for biting his opponents lip during wrestling practice. I think he was kicked off the team, but I can't remember all the details.

Wrestlers are mean. Especially the ones wearing masks.

you missed it. I was taking a shot at the eye gouge fanatics, seeing that this guy was eye gouged, yet still went on to win.

you sure can, which is why I don't call it a fight ender.

well an eye gouge applied properly might indeed end a fight.

SevenStar

a well placed right cross might end one too...

too true...

true. if somebody tries to shoot on you, just right cross them until their eye falls out. they'll let go.

Sorry, sometimes I forget how hard it is to express sarcasm in a msg board without flat out saying it.

I'm sure he has a left eye still....and I did read the Blurb under the pic. Never seen a guy grapple someone and forcefully put his finger into his eyesocket before tho....I dont think I'd call that a gouge....looks like he trying to dig his eye out. A gouge should be a quick thrust of ones finger to the eye....he shouldnt have time to feel around for the guys nasil passage.

I have a glass eye. If you try and gouge it, it will just break and cut you.

Then why the redundant yet still aggresive "Why do I care if you "belive" me?"?
