So saying they are unrelated is a dumb claim right?

Thanks for the response. I found this article interesting, but it is probably over my head to some degree considering some of it is about masters and people who would know.

Good links.

I was only told that my Xing Yi teacher was from Shangxi.

Nothing else was revealed to me.

I enjoyed reading the info.

Thanks a lot BB.

Actually, I think there are more than 2 schools of Xing Yi Quan.

As a matter of fact, the name of Xing Yi Quan was changed several times.

All CMA have both studies of Xin and Xing.

The method for the heart (Xin Fa) is expressed in forms (body/ Xing).

Xing Yi is short for Xiang Xing Chu Yi. Take the semblance of the form to understand or represent the meaning.

In Tong Bei Quan, there are many methods of Xin Xing. Such as 64 Xin Xing's.

For each method of the heart (Xin Fa), there can be many forms (Xing Fa's).

We have to study both.

In plain English, there are many moves derived from one principle.

Xin Xing Her Yi. Your heart and your form are one and the same.
