Mantis archery

The thread "Favourite Mantis Weapon" inspired this question... dose mantis archery exist, if it dose can i get some info on it?

Archery is a discipline unto itself (as far as I know). However, I suppose you could wield it like a staff if people came too close.

Wong Long created the Mantis style so he could defeat the Monks in empty hand, stand up combat. Anything else you find came in later. It's possible someone teaches archery in their Mantis school but I've never heard of anyone. Maybe the resident historians in this forum could answer that a little better.

Modern day schools seem to be scurrying to add, or find, different aspects to ensure what they teach is a complete fighting system. Personally I think a lot of it is to 'keep up with the Jonses' and nobody wants to admit that their style is limited in any way.
