I watched a film clip the other day showing techniques to help out another that is under attack (ie, someone has a knife to their throat & they are un-trained; What do you do).
Does the mantis system have answers for this or is this a speciality of "specialized" systems?

wouldn't that fall under the heading of 'chin na' type techniques? In which case, that would vary from line to line as not all systems, mantis or otherwise, have a comprehensive arsenal of chin na.

knife defense isn't something to play around with, the teacher best be good and actaully have some real experience fighting with edged weapons or they won't know what the hell they are really talking about.

I've seen some people learn some stuff that only gave the a sense of self confidence w/o any real ability.
