Gene: XingYi...do tell

Gene: Tell me about XingYi. I read that you are studing it. I trained in shaolin with ex-monks for several months and realised it was not for me. Tell me about your experience with XingYi. Please.

...I sort of fell into Xingyi, just like I fell into Shaolin. It's funny to me how some people seek out specific styles for answers. I've always just looked for good teachers. I credit the teachers more than the styles themselves (although I've always enjoyed working with the monks).

Anyway, I've been training in O-Mei style with Sifu Tony Chen and threw my shoulder out. so he started me on Xingyi. I had dabbled in Xingyi years before when Sifu Wing Lam was dabbling in it, and it left a sour taste with me, so I was pretty resistent at first. But now I really love it. BTW, my shoulder has healed and I'm back doing Songshan Shaolin when I can.
