Technical Question***

I am trying to make a GIF of a WMP movie but I do not know how to get the frames for the GIF. Is there a method of obtaining the movie in frame format or a way of screenshotting the media player? I tried regular Print Screen screenshots but something about the encapsulation doesnt allow the actual picture to be captured.. only the skin of the player. Any advice?

If you use Quicktime's full version player, you can save screenshots, then use Photoshop or Flash to re-animate the Gif.

If you have access to a linux or unix machine, you can use mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu) to output a video as gifs.
