reverse taiji

what would happen if...

you did your taiji form in reverse?

would you explode?
would your chi stagnate?
would you still develop the same?
would you be able to call it a 'new form'?


any thoughts?

We do our form mirror sometimes, it's quite a challenge.

It depends what you are refering to.

All the moves are constantly reversing, left to right, right to left, up and down, down and up, forward and backward, backward and forward.

Wait there is more. to move forward, move backward first then forward on an on.

If you compared Lao Jia and Xing Jia,

If you do a large frame method, doing the form backwards would probobly work the legs in a very interesting way as well as the hips.

I've tried some circle walking from Bagua backwards and that's pretty interesting, disorienting, but interesting.

You have a lot of good inquries.

Qi is constantly flowing. If it is stopped, you may have illness or death.

When your hands are moving outward and separating (Kai), it is an expansion.

When they come together, it is closing (Her) and contracting.

When you practice, your moves are slowly and evenly. The Jin is in a constant dynamic of balance.

You are also constantly storing Jin (Shi Jin). The stored Jin maybe released at any instant explosively (Fa Jin). Sort of you are ready to explode in a balance way any moment.

Practice all the move indiviually (Dan Lien). Then couple several in a sequence. You may have short form, long form in different order. Usually, the connection or Zan Zuang is Single Whip plus Lu Feng Si Bi.

BUT

When you play New Age music backwards, all you get is more New Age music...
