Please post the recipes for your favorite protein shakes!

What is a good powder to buy? (I'd prefer from my local grocery)

Thanks guys!

Designer Protein and organic rice milk. Most of time, I simply shake it up with water on busy days.

My two (http://www.myopure.com.au/calcium-caseinate.html) proteins (http://www.myopure.com.au/whey-protein-concentrate.html) are close to 100% protein. They just taste bland and "thick" by themselves. So far, I've mixed them with water, milk and chocolate flavour, and milk and banana. I don't care what they're mixed with. It's not like they're difficult to drink.

I'm looking for just a snack protein shake, not for a whole meal. So would something like - a cup of vanilla yoghurt, 1 banana, some orange juice and the powder work?

Maybe. I'd be reluctant to mix OJ and yoghurt. It'd probably curdle the yoghurt. Unless that doesn't bother you ...

Otherwise, if you specifically want those ingredients, I'd take the yoghurt, slice the banana and mix it and the powder in the yoghurt, and have a glass of OJ on the side :). Maybe add a bit of bran or other fibrous grain (I'm thinking All-Bran (http://www.kellogg.com.au/DisplayPage.asp?PageID=201&brandid=10) in Oz, dunno what you could substitute) and other fruits and nuts to the yoghurt, too. Basically, nothing else will have the protein content that concentrated powder will, so everything else is superfluous. Depends on what you want in your snack - the rest will provide carbs (except a tiny bit of protein from the yoghurt and nuts).

As to which protein to buy, I'd stick to one that's close to pure. Otherwise you're paying someone else to make your recipes for you and typically getting less protein. So no "Muscle Mix (TM) Chocolate Flavour" type stuff.
