It was funny...but the set up was decieving. I was expecting Bloody bare-knuckle bouts. I got two putz dancing around trying to punch each other in the stomach....

I've seen funnier material on PBS.

I can't take this, I gotta say it. Just to clarify your devotion level, that quote was spewed by Brad Pitt from TROY the MOVIE, not from horses mouth, aka Achilles in Illiad - Trojan War. If you had any impression how much the Greeks, particularly Spartans feared defeat (whether Achilles or not), you wouldn't have punctuated that fallacious garbage. It's a movie, get it!?

Here's a quote you'll like: "You do not own your brain, your brain belongs to the Fight Club. Things you possess end up owning you." :p

Things I noticed:

1. The jump kick at 7 seconds was funny.

2. The rooster crowing at 36 seconds was also funny.

3. No punching to the head allows you to keep your guard low.

4. The guy with black pants on had a "WT" shirt with a vertical fist on it. Is he a Wing Tsun guy?

5. The punch to the stomach at the end didn't look any harder than any of the other strikes, but it sure seemed to stop that guy.

6. From this one "fight," these guys have more actual experience than a lot of kung fu schools.

Here, I've categorized them for you.

A reverse crescent kick to the face can end a fight (http://project-theone.com/fightclub/lvss.mpg).

Mad grappling skillz (http://project-theone.com/fightclub/rvsf2.mpg)

Mad grappling skillz ---> Rear naked choke (http://project-theone.com/fightclub/rvsf1.mpg)

Boxing with headgear --> grappling --> one guy doesn't let up when the guy taps --> in quicktime (http://www.****ebillig.dk/fightclub/media/svsm.mov)

More quicktime. Grab the shirt hockey-style, get mounted (http://www.****ebillig.dk/fightclub/media/kvsm.mov)

At least these guys have a common interest.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I think we're all here based on a common interest. Where as these guys... just as many other high school kids after watching Fight Club, decided to follow up on the wrong message.

lmfao

this is gold..
Although, I don't think their serious. I just think they wanted to put togheter some funny material and sarcasticly calling it Fight Club. Some of them are probebly beginners in some MA. Like the WT guy. They have alot to learn :D ..but atleast they try.

If I recall my greek literature, Achilles was given a choice. He could return to his home and live until old age, yet no one would know his name and he would pass into obscurity, or he could stay and fight in Troy, and although he would die, people would still speak his name and know of his deeds far into the future.

Sooooo, that begs the question, warrior code, or price of fame?

Ive also watched a discovery channel special on it and it was pretty realistically portrayed in the film, although they made it seem like the war took 15 days which in fact it took 10 years. And it was a mighy fine film for that matter.

Uh.... you could just read the Illiad if you want a truer view of the characters than what a movie can offer you. :)

just a suggestion.

You could have 10 years of crappy experience like that and it would'nt mean you'd be good in something!...;)

First of all, that thread depicts nothing but speculation of d.icks.

Secondly, I think you watched the sci-fi version. lol. The discovery channel version highlighted the movie. Prior to it, all day, they aired history of Sparta, and "real story" of Troy according to Homer and historical sightings. The movie is NOTHING like the story/history of Trojan War. It's a rudiment knowledge if you paid closer attention to it. And it ain't just 10 days of war instead of 10 years.

Take the movie with a grain of salt; don't embellish it. I suppose reading Iliad would just spoil your fantasy of world domination.

Once the fight inside the city walls began, Menelaus headed straight to Helen's quarters intending to kill her. He was side-tracked by a fight with Helen's new husband, Deiphobus, whom she stabbed. This factor and the sight of Helen's bare breasts made Menelaus rethink his plan, and he took Helen safely to the ship. They lived out the rest of their days happily. To protect Helen, Zeus had Apollo wrap her in a cloud and bring her to Olympus to reunite with her brothers."

From that thread.

Hmmm, was that accurately depicted in the movie? ;)
