Godd@mn reaper better lay off of my heroes or I'm gonna get really p!ssed off. And I DON'T mean Reagan was my hero.

I'm talking about Kenny Burrell, Elvin Jones, Robert Quine, Steve Lacy, and now this.

I'm getting drunk tonight. Some occassions just call for it.

No shiznit, NP. The Genius of Soul did it all. There's a great record of his called "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" where he totally knocked down the walls between poor black folks music and poor white folks music.

Here's to Brother Ray, who even made Pepsi Jingles sound good.

The jazz guitarist who died on May 6th was Barney Kessel, not Kenny Burrell.

I apologize for the confusion.

Rest in Peace.
I saw the news and thought that death has been working overtime lately.

Makes me nervous about my flight home this coming wednesday (knocks on wood)

yea, Elvin passed away a couple of weeks ago, maybe a little longer than that.

NPR did a great story on him.

you know there's a lot of reasons that this period of time sucks to be alive in.

1 - you can't be a pirate

2 - A lot of the great firsts in a lot of things are dying off.

:(

He left the world a better place for his works. He's immortal for that.

Ray Charles crossed human bridges that few politicians are able to cross- and none lately.

Ray Charles sucked. I hated his music. It wasn't so special. Stevie Wonder could have taken him out - at least it would have been a good fight.
