does wing chun underestimate its real potential to succeed in full-contact competition?
who feels that it is time to seriously stop the theoretical waffle and start proving its effectiveness in the ring!

...they remove 16oz gloves in "full-contact" they might start competing. Till then, it will take nothing less than hook and powerpunches simply to hurt people. You cannot have sensitivity with 16oz gloves, nor can you be very precise with these watermelons on your hands. Make a forum that allows bare knuckles and watch the kung fu'ers flock to it.

In lei-tai and san sou comps lighter gloves are worn, also open vale-tudo and open k-1 events. wing chun is quite possible in 8/10 oz gloves, the sensitivity is in the arms and legs to respond to bridges and then counter-attack using the fists, feet, knees & elbows.
