I may be showing my major ignorance on this point...
but what is Yuan Yan Tang Lang?

I saw it listed on a website (www.atlantamartialarts.com)
as a type of "non-spread" praying mantis style (whatever that means).

it sounded interesting, I was just curious.

thanks

I'm the admin for atlantamartialarts.com nowadays. This page was put together before I came on board.

If you'll notice the info was gathered from Fernando Blanco's site (http://www.geocities.com/mantiscave/). You may want to ask him...

Here's some info that I was able to find on the style through the magic of the internet forums.

It would seem that the style started out in Yintao, Shandong and has a lineage in Qingdao, Shandong, China since 1945.

The lineage basically looks like this:

He ShunChang (CE 1833 - 1922)
Mao LiQuan also known as Mao Zhen Xiu (CE 1855 - 1967 started the lineage in Qingdao since 1945)
Sun YiZhai (CE 1935 - ) and many others
Song ZhenRen and many others

The main emphasis of this style is to be symmetric as well as fights with both sides. Cirriculum wise, it has about 33 forms. It is quite similar to the HK 7 Stars on a quick glance.
