sometimes my knee feels a bit funny. if you have a look at this pic

http://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~bmedesgn/fall01/skibind/knee.jpg

on my knee it feels like theres a squidgy bit squeazing in and out of the groove on the outside of the knee when i bend it. on that pic i think its where they're pointing to lateral meniscus. it doesn't hurt at all just feels a bit odd. is this swelling of the cartalidge (sp?) or of the ligament?

i know most people say that if it doesn't hurt then you shouldn't worry but i wondered if there was anything i could do to stop it feeling so odd. i've seen the doc a couple of times but by the time i make an appointment it goes down. i already supplement with omega 3's and glucosamine and i was thinking about taking green lipped mussel capsules to help stop the swelling (im assuming thats what it is). does anyone know of any other natural anti-inflammitaries? has anyone tried green lipped mussels?

cheers,
stubbs

Hi stubbs,

Are you referring to a puffiness on the outside of the knee or something that could be water on the knee?

I have the former and I consider it a sign of good health. Babies have this and if you notice them, it covers their entire knee. I have noticed that men who have a very active, as in draining, sex life have the "groove" where the puff should be (a kidney, knee, sexual energy connection).

Just a personal observation.

I had a puffy foot/ankle thing going for several days there and wwill more than likely not take drugs myself............after a string of suggestions a canotese local friend of mine gave me a bottle of hong knog arnica with camphor and menthol........within hrs, it brought all the bruising up and already I can nearly see my ankle see my ankle bone again..............it's relief and circulatory boost anyway..............

oh and please don't go by that standard "if it doesn't hurt dont worry"...that can be very misleading ...........cheers

Which side of the knee is the puff supposed to be on?

lol, you saying im not getting enough? it is kinda puffy but it feels like it slips in and out a bit when i bend it my knee. its definatly not water - it feels too solid for that but it's just got that 'eeww' kinda feeling. i've had it for ages and keeps coming and going - never thought about it from the TCM point of view tho - cheers!

Hi Vash,

I have that puffiness on the outside of either knee. I like the feel.

Hi stubbs,

That which I have does not "slip" as you describe with your knee. Mine has the feel as if someone put an inner tube beneath the surface of my skin. When I stand up that puffiness is not there; it is only when my leg is bent that it is there. If this description does not quite fit you, then I do not know what it is that you have.
