Got myself a bench for glute-ham raises. It just came today, so I'm putting it together tonight.

Pay not attention to the girl in the picture. She's using it as a roman chain and not for glute-ham raises.

you lousy *****. i'm stuck using a couch as a bracer for glute/ham raises. have to put weights on the couch to keep my feet from lifting it as i lower.

I thought with your Westside "links" you'd get a reverse hyper machine? Don't you get more lower back work with your lifts than this could give you? E.g. I feel like I've got two steel cables running alongside my spine in the lower back at the moment and it's not from any back exercises.

are you assembling it differently than what is shown? I don't see how the glute ham raises are performed with the apparatus as shown.

fa_jing -- the leg support portion slides along the main horizontal bar.

ford just needs to be **** careful he doesn't fall forward, and that he makes sure the whole structure doesn't fall forward. :)

Greetings,

I think Ford will be facing the opposite direction from that of the model pictured. I do not know whether the device is balanced for that type of leverage.

Ford, insights?

Yup. You face the ground and rest your knees on the pad. From there start performing glute-ham raises. Theres really no way for it to tip forward. It's designed well. I was doing dips off those handles on the front this morning.

Here's the only picture I could find of somebody using one of these:

(The stretch band around his neck is to add resistance)

Toby,

It's nearly identical to westside's and it's $400 cheaper... I may do well for myself, but not well enough to blow $400 on a brand name.

(The stretch band around his neck is to add resistance) sick, sick, sick. :D

i'm still working up to a few solid reps. doing those with a band is just flat-out impressive.
