Depends on weight class and purpose- regular match or spar.
Heavier in sparring. Lighter in real fights. Sometimes for top quality matches- size and design(thumb) of gloves are negotiated and can also depend on sanctioning body rules.
Amateurs for fights- gloves are approved by AAU, Golden Gloves, PAL etc. For sparring upto each training gym..

The wba rules are clear and the wbc rules virtually match and they state in section ten of the wba (world boxing association)
10.- GLOVES
10.1 The weight of the gloves to be used in world championship bouts shall be as
follows:
From Super Welterweight up to and including Heavyweight, ten (10) ounces gloves shall be used.
From Minimum up to and including Welterweight, eight (8) ounce gloves shall be used.
. When in the contract of boxers the gloves trademark is not established, the Local Commission shall decide the glove trademark to be used.
cheers
