Grand Master Henry Sue's, Brisbane school will be holding it's annual Open Day at 963 Stanley St, East Brisbane, Qld between 10:30am-4pm.

Entry is free and I believe you can purchase drinks / food at the school.

It's an amazing an heritage theatre turn kung fu school.

There are quite a number of demostrations from general breaking, 1 hand vs 2 hand, hand vs foot, form, jongs and weapon fighting.

I believe there will also be an introductory Tai Chi class, as well as Q&A with Sigung, and if we are really lucky Sigung may as he did last year perform Chen Style Tai Chi.

Would be great to see those around Brisbane (Australia) regardless of style to see an amazing martial artist, with a amazing reputation, and see what the Tong Long (Southern Praying Mantis) system has to offer.

tong long in brisbane....

I think if you want to see Hok Ser Tong Long or Lin Wan Sam Sau ok then but if you are talking about chow gar tong long... why wouldn't someone just go the Tung Kong Chow Gar representative paul brennan?

I'm not going to get into an flame war regarding Paul Brennan issue.

Si Gung Henry Sue (and his brother Malcolm), who learnt under Si Tai Gung Nat Yeurn bought Tong Long to Australia, Brisbane. Anyone who knows about Tong Long in Australia would know of the Sue Brothers reputation.

I will leave it to those who attend the open day to make their own judgement.

Putting aside the Henry Sue \ Paul Brennan issue, I was wondering what the general opinion in Hong Kong and England is in regard to master Nat Yuen? Does he still have any connections to the Ip family? Does anybody know exactly how senior he is in the scheme of things?

He brought the art to Australia in the 1950's and that's where our history begins, but I've never heard much about him since that time. There were several offshoots from that beggining - some are no longer chow gar. I've met Henry several times but I'm not one of his students.
