I'm looking for a school in vegas for my nephew. I know about doc's place(russbo.com). Idon't know of any others. I want to get him in a place that's similar to where I train, close student atmosphere with high quality kungfu. I'm going to be there in a few weeks, I'll help him find a place while I'm there.

Any reccomendations?

Style doesn't matter(I suggested Muay Thai or boxing), although if there is a place to train Choy lay fut or any other southern style kungfu there that would be great.

master toddy was just up here in sleepy bellingham a few weeks ago. the man is phenomenal, intelligent, gentlemanly and a kick in the pants (figuratively). train with him if you ever get a chance.

don't discount doc's school, as he seems to have a constant rotation of monks. i think doc brings them in just so he can write regular articles about how horrid chinese travel and visa work is.

That was a good show. The DJ fighter dude, though, he didn't impress me too much. He seemed a little repressed. Or depressed. Or something.

Doc and his crew have the widest range of styles and forms and experience. I don't think you'll find better. In fact , I'm considering travelling from abroad for this school alone....

Create Develop and Flow Academy. Thats where I trained until money issues have stopped me for a long while. Sifu Jack Soiderberg is a great teacher, martial artist, and person. The classes are small, and sifu has unique training methods.

it's a JKD school with a lot of Lama pai Crane thrown in. Once a week another teacher would teach BJJ to the students at the school so they have some familiarity with grappling.

I've heard many great things about the WC teacher who teaches at the same place at russbo.

One of my Old Sifu's form River Grove is down there. Sifu Rocky Lombardo. I don't know if he's currently teaching though. He is some how involved with the security for Crazy Horse Cassino's though. You might want to look him up.

Crazy Horse isn't a casino, it's a strip club. Crazy Horse, and Crazy Horse ll.

You sure about that? I thought it was a cassino. Maybe I got the name wrong then if that's the case.

100% positive. (I've lived here for 18 years) Plus the Crazy Horse ll is not too far from my house, I pass it all the time, when I was training. Also, there was an FBI raid earlier this year, that garnered alot of media attention.

Is that a Mob tied establishment?

Yung Apprentice

Dunno, possibly. The owner was in cahoots with a bunch of politicians out here though, and a lot of them got mentioned in the paper.

The FBI found nothing in the raid. Supposedly it wasn't the first raid there, just the first made public.

It wouldn't surprise me that a lot of things are kept hush hush, I mean heck, our mayor is a former mob attorney. He even played himself in "Casino", lol!

Just got back from Vegas. Me and missus stayed at The Venetian. That place rocks, but it cost me some $. Next time, we'll slum it at the New York New York or something.

Tony Yang of the Wu-Tan lineage will be moving to Las Vegas within the next year or so. I am not sure exactly but you can contact the school to find out more info. His website is at www.wutangcenter.com

Dude....the 2nd floor looks just like that DeBeer's diamond commercial where the guy gives the chick the ring and screams "I love this woman." The gondola canal runs through the whole 2nd floor and you can take a boat ride through it. The ceiling is even painted to look like the sky. You feel like you're outside even though you are inside. It rocked.

I'll post some pics tomorrow to show you what I'm talking about.

Yeah, the Venetian and the Bellagio are the nicest casinos in Vegas. My sis works at the Venetian at Madame Tussauds's Wax Musuem. Had I known you and your wife were there, I could have got her to get you some free tickets. It's kinda neat.

Monte Carlo is cool, has the best brewery in town.

They had an article in the paper the other day about the Crazy Horse ll. In the article they talked about a bouncer who used to be some goon in NY. And that the night manager is affiliated with some current crime family. Kinda ironic that this came out just a few days after it came up here.
