While filming one of our students at the Wong Tournament from 3 rings away I believe I got Jow Ga Fist just bowing out after his empty hand form. Sorry these are so poor in quality, they were screen captures.

Yes, the Wongs do a great Lion Dance. This was the first time I've seen them do it. And the flip they did off the platform was cool. If you want to see some really amazing Lion Dancing get a hold of the video of competetion Lion Dancing they hold in China each year.

Wish I had taken some clips of "gorgeous" but no.
As for pleasant individual, I learned a long time ago if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything. And if someone gives you a hard time, respond to them in a positive way. This is Yin and Yang. That doesn't mean to be negative to someone who is positive towards you! LOL. Oh you know what I mean?

nah I dont have any clips of gorgeous. i think my friend took one of the other girl in red during spear form.

i was repping the black fieyues Larry. I had a white frog button shirt on with black lining and a beard. a lot of those other black shoes were knock offs. so wasnt one of my younger kung fu brothers wearing some black fieyues.

LOL Yes Good "catch" Shaolinlueb! After the dragon whips his tail move I noticed the free end of the 3 section was turned around the wrong way. I should have taken a step forward to allow the free end to drop behind before I did the catch. As is is I hit myself in the eye with it as I did the catch. I still placed 1st though.

Well, as my Sifu John Dufresne explains it... Wu Shu is Chinese Martial Arts. Translation "War Art". Kung Fu in Chinese means skill achieved through time and hard work. My Sifu teaches traditional Chinese Martial Arts. By traditional I mean he doesn't put his students in a box. He teaches us both northern and southern styles. Also the internal styles. As long as we show interest and we practice he will teach us what ever we want to learn.
Someone made a comment to me as I was waiting to perform my 3 section. He asked me "is that a beginners weapon?. My sifu wouldn't let us touch the 3 section until we are at least a blue belt". I thought to myself, so your sifu holds you back?. But I just answered him " it is if you make your own".
Anyway, the forms we learn are both traditional and compulsory.

okay, sounds liberating. I look at some of the pics on your site is why I was asking and it seemed more traditional. I suspected that your school was using wushu to mean martial arts, but just wanted to check.
oh and another thing WOOD! that's incredible I bet your feiyues or whatever shoes you guys wear last a whole lot longer.

By WOOD do you mean the floor in our school? Well, that is a handball court we use when the weather is bad. We normally work out in a public park. Grass er was grass now is dirt. And bumpy. When we do have to use the handball court we feel much more rooted and confident because of the flat smooth floor. We are in the process of moving into a new school. It was a womens fitness center. So it has carpeted floors, showers, dressing rooms, mirrored walls. I can't wait until we get in there!

I am older than John by 11 months. And yes, When in the presence of any other students I refer to him as Sifu. I try to set a good example for them. And he treats me as he does the others. Rottin! Just kidding Sifu!!! In order for a student to receive any knowledge he must lower himself so that knowledge can flow. If the student raises himself above the teacher than it's the teacher who will learn from the student. I know as long as I show proper respect for my younger brother he will teach me. If I called him John in class the students would look at that as disrespect and I wouldn't learn much.
