what could i make parallette bars out of?

PVC pipe. I made some. Get the thicker kind. Ok, when you go to the hardware store there's two thicknesses of PVC pipe. I forgot the numbers, but one can withstand like twice the PSI of the other one, so you want to get the stronger one.

Other than that just copy the dimensions from that one gymnastics website. You'll need to buy some connector pieces and end caps if you want it to look pretty.

You'll need 4 T-connectors and 4 L-connectors and 4 end caps total. I think. Double check my math :)

how much give do your pvc pipes have? i went to the diy store today and tried bending some over my knee (got some funny looks!! lol) and they seem quite bendy and i doubt they'll take my lard arse bodyweight.

A little I guess. Did you look at the thicker ones? Do a search on my posts. I think I made a thread after I made my parallettes and I think I even said what kind of PVC I used. Remember that the longer the PVC is the more it's going to flex. I think mine are like 18" long or something.

I made a pair out of two equal pieces of an old excersize machine, some ducktape, and some foam.
