Do you mean mantras? (tantra is the art of rooting the ol' lady all night long:))
If so check out the Dharma Talks thread in the Qigong forum. I'm sure we can help you out.

Actually, the sexual aspects of tantra are only a small part of it. Many adepts never practice sexual tantra at all. Tantra can (and does) include meditation, yoga, and many other practices which would be considered "occult" practices here in the Western hemisphere. Check out "The Tantric Mysticism of Tibet" by John Blofeld for a more detailed analysis. Peace.

Good post.

There are 3 major vehicles of Buddha Dharma (way of Buddha).

The Hina-yana (small); the Maha-yana (great); and the Vajra-yana (diamond).

The third vehicle is also called Tantra.

Vajra means indestructible in Sanskrit.

Tantra means continuity in Tibetan.

They believe in experiencing the truth directly.

They believe that confusions and senses of this world are the beginning or seeds for enlightenment.

They study how everything works in this world.

They believe that the deity of nature will show up both in men and women.

The speeches are called Mantras.

The gestures are called Mundras.

For a beginner in Buddhism;

The book: An introduction to the Buddha and his teachings. compiled by Samuel Berchols and Sherab Kohn.

It is an easy read and very informative.
