not flying , but rather jumping while seated in a lotus position.

the late Doug Henning and his group of transcendental meditators tried to pass this off as levitation back in the 80's.

because he had figured out a way to use explosive muscular energy to jump straight up while in a lotus posture, he assumed this must be what levitation is.

go figure.

I saw a guy on a talkshow do that. He said he could leviate while he meditated. He got in the lotus position and then rocked back and forth and jumped into the air like that. Of course, he fell back down right away so it wasn't really levitating.

Here (http://www.csicop.org/si/9505/tm.html)'s an article that mentions the fake flying or whatever.

"Several disenchanted TMers have sued the organization for failing to teach them powers that were promised. In 1987, for instance, Robert Kropinski, a former TM instructor, asked for $9 million because he was never able to fly. He also charged that TM had caused him "headaches, anxiety, impulses toward violence, hallucinations, confusion, loss of memory, screaming fits, lack of focus, paranoia, and social withdrawal." A Philadelphia jury awarded him $138,000. "

Wow, they actually gave him money for being an idiot.

But you have to admit, it's pretty darn impressive to be able to bounce that high on nothing but your bum muscles.

I've seen demonstrations of TM flying, and they never got more than 12-in. off the ground. I think that pic is fake. How does he keep from breaking his @ss-bone when he lands?

Judge Pen - you're a lawyer, why isn't terminal stupidity a crime?!?

Judge Pen

Because many of the people making the laws would qualify as terminally stupid.
