Choice: Snake kung fu vs Baji

Hi
Want you guys opininon. Will be moving in 10 months.However i have the opportunity to study baji(from a instructor trained by Bow SiM Mark) or emei snake(snakefist) kung fu. I have the chance to continue the baji( beijing wushu/kung fu instructor in my new relocation) or take up snake kungfu from a different instructor. Would take both now if I had the money.Could take both once I move.Then again taking to two different styles at one time might be too much.Let me know what you think

Both are good. It all depends what you like.

Snake hands are used to deflect or neutralize the opponent's arms then attack, or attack at the same time with other hand.

The downside is that if your blocking hand gets grabbed by Tiger claws or Mantis hands. You have to desolve.

Ba Ji is to neutralize and move forward with attacks at high, mid and low.

The neutralization may be Chan (silk reeling), Tiao, Gua, Cai, or simply confining the attacking hand or foot and move in with your attack at the same time. You get close to me. I get even closer to you.

Ba Ji has strategy for long, mid and close body contact. The closer you get, the more powerful it gets. Such as Yiet and Kua.

Asia the Ruler/Smasher is notorious for his Baji.

Depends on what you want to get with your training...


I'd personally start where you can now, then check out both schools when you move, and train where you feel you'll have
1. a better chance at achieving your goals

2. a good time

In no particular order.

Both. Study kungfu, wear silk pajamas, and get some bad kanji tatoos that you can't even read.
