now that i am on my 32nd cup of tea today (if this is an exaggeration it is not by much) i figure all that goodness could be going to town on the cancers in my body. the antioxidants are lovely i hear, and i have always been a firm believer in you get what you pay for so i dont want to get the first thing i come across.

any suggestions would be appreciated as we do not have a local herbal store and i wouldnt trust one within travelling distance without knowing someone with some personal experience. that said im 45 mins outside pittsburgh, 2 hours from columbus which i may be visiting if my buddy moves there, and ill also be in baltimore quite frequently in a couple months to go to john hopkins.

eddie also mentioned wheat grass tea on my whining hospital stay journal/diary thread.

anyone else know anything about this?

Dunno, but wheat grass juice is supposed to be high in antioxidants. You can probably get that from most health food stores. Or wheat grass seed at least, and make your own juice. I've never drunk it but my wife has. Apparently it's an acquired taste ;).

Very acquired taste, but you get used to it, and after a while you think you like it.

Check the other threat on wheat grass.

Someone also told me whiskey with warm milk every night, I know it helps for kidneys, but apparently it is also a good antioxidant. If you can drink that (whiskey), you could drink anything.

that would be awesome, save for the fact that im trying to quit drinking right now.

it would be too much of a tease and i'd be at the store buying a 12 pack immediately following.

Wheat grass is excellent for you, but it tastes about like urine and lawn clippings.

As it happens, a friend of mine maintains a very extensive and informative site about all kinds of tea, with links to many many retailers.

I can't find the site where I bought my tea from last time (before that time I got some of the Shaolin Green Tea from MAM) but there seems to be plenty of good links on CSN's buddy's site.

I sampled this tea while at Uwajimaya in Seattle (Japanese grocery store) and enjoyed it immensely.

Let me put a recommendation for:
http://www.imperialtea.com/

I've met the owner, Roy Fong, and he personally goes to China and Taiwan to oversee the growing of the leaves.

If you are really concerned about what went into the tea, go for the organics:

Did you see my thread on tenren tea? www.tenren.com. I don't know how high the quality is, but it tastes pretty good. They have some tea that's like $128 per box or whatever. ****. But most of their stuff is around $2.50-5 per box.
