I participated in a few of them. In one of them,I had to act as a drunk "Kung Fu" guy attacked by three vilains in a bar!...This was happening in a Montreal's chinatown big restaurant. I was sitting with a glass in my hand and these guys had to attack me in a prepared choregraphy but everything went wrong and,it turned ugly.They charged me and started to punch and kick me for real!...Maybe it was caused by the stage fright but I started to defend myself as it was now a real attack.I remember ,I got one on the knee with a kick and he fell down with a yell.I also elbowed an other on the jaw and he went downstage on his back.The last one was looking at me with panicked eyes as I started to cool down and realised what happened to our demo. My Sifu of the times was looking at me from a nearby table with very round eyes for a chinese guy!...We then managed to bow to the public and had a good round of applauses.
Too bad this thing was not filmed. It could have been a hit on funny videos tv shows.

PS I managed not to spill my glass of water,during the "demo" and outside of a few pains and bruises,nobody was hurted seriously.

LOL, I can relate. My first demo on my own was back in Thunder Bay Ontario, at a kickboxing event with Bill Wallace as the featured fighter, back in 92'. When I got to the place there were around 400 to 500 people and most of them were Martial Artist, so I began to get the old butterflies in the stomach thing going on, and I kept on asking myself what I was doing here and so on..lol, I got through it, and luckly taped it too, so maybe I will put it on here some day, just don't be surprised by the semi-mullet thing happening, lol.
