for the interested:

http://www.savateaustralia.com/Savate%20Essays/Bare-Knuckles%20to%20Modern%20Boxing.htm

discusses the use of the vertical fist, body structure etc for the bare knuckle fighting of the 18th and 19th centuries - sounds pretty similar to the Wing Chun method.

simple stuff but interesting to see the similarities

good one
yep i have a savate power punching video ands it's all vertical fist
with the body unity

old school savate guys had nice skills and good takedowns

but it's very rare to find anyone practicing the art in the old style

good research man

Cool find. I had a friend in H.S. who did Savate. Dude was pretty amazing with an umbrella. For halloween one year, he dressed up as a 70's pimp in platform shoes and he was throwing down kicks like crazy.

They have really cool takedowns and sweeps.
