[Meandering philosphical introspection]

I like Hip Hop. Can't say I love it, though. It's just not me.

I like most CMA. I plan on studying a few; Fukien Crane, Hsing I. But, my soul will be forever in the Okinawa Toudi.

I am very interested in Buddhist and Taoist philosophies, but I am a Christian. That can't change.

For a while, it was almost my quest to find the thing which drives me. One day, I found it.

You know, I used to want to be a writer. I think a samll part of me still wants to be. On those long drives, I write novels in my head. I build worlds and characters and see lives unfold. There are stories there. I suppose one day I should write them down.

This one time, in X-Men, Beast said he could turn the Periodic Table of Elements into a dirty limeric. Well, I was bored one day, and I did just that. And let me tell ya, that Carbon is a dirty *****.

My body was broken for a long time. Somewhen before that happened, though, I think a part of my mind broke. Now, I'm finally getting the peaces, body and soul, back together. God rules. Jesus could whip Buddha's fat behind.

{A man meets an old woman on the road}

"I come a seekin' peace."
"Do you know peace?"
"Ayuh."
"Then why do you come a seekin' her?"
"Cuz."
"Ah. And what else do you come a seekin'?"
"Truth."
"Do you know truth?"
"Ayuh."
"Then why do you come a seekin' her?"
"Cuz."
"Ah. And what'll you do after you've a seeked 'em out?"
"I'll be at peace."
"And what of truth?"
{The man sighs, but does not answer}
"Ah."

Yeah, but the eight immortals would stomp Jesus out in a couple seconds.. then Royce Gracie would walk over and choke them all out. So really, good post.. sorry for the sarcasm.

Bah. Jesus'd whup the Eight Immortals like they were money changers in a Temple.

And Royce would get schooled.

But, I was working with about 2 hours sleep when I wrote that post. So, you know.

When I used to read X-Men, Beast wasn't part of them. He was in X-Factor, though. I got all sad and stopped reading X-Men when Bad Things happened to them all and they disappeared and newbies came in.

Anyway, there was this kid on the radio the other day who knew a song that goes through all the elements on the periodic table. It was from some old American comic (as in funny guy, not as in X-Men).

These things aren't mutually exclusive. I bet Jesus was more Buddhist and Taoist than you'll ever be Christian.

Most assuredly. But I find His teachings have more in common with Buddhist thought (of course, barring reincarnation) than Taoist.

I am certainly not the best Christian. I have 3 GB of lesbian porn.

Jesus would like lesbian porn. He might not admit it, but he'd like it.

Unless he was gay.

Beast's career with X-Factor was a short lived one. He eventually returned to the X-Men. Although he did do many cross overs.

My favorite X-person was Havok. Former X-Men, leader of X-Factor, bro to Cyclops, dude was a BAD MAN!

Jesus Christ said "Some cannot accept the message until they are born again"

people interpret that analogously but it's up to you how you decide to interpret it...

There was a fair bit of crossover, though. I also had (have somewhere) a bunch of bits and pieces from side stories etc. The whole Phoenix/Jean Grey thing, stuff about Colossus' sister, dunno. One day I'll spend a month re-reading it all. Great stories.

Just did a search. Wow, brings back memories. I stopped reading/subscribing just after the Inferno/Fall of the Mutants crossover.

One of my favourite characters from the X-series was Archangel. Former Mr Nice Guy turns bad. Of course, it was always hard to go past Wolvie.

The thing I liked about Havok, is the dude had balls. He was smart, not as smart as his bro, but he had bigger balls. Plus, when he snapped, HE SNAPPED!

Wolvie is a favorite of everybody, I liked him too. But Gambit was probably my second favorite.

I had stopped reading them for a long while so I don't know where the series is at. Last I had read them, Professor X had a son, who eventually grows up, and wants to save his pop some grief by killing Magneto. Dude is real powerful, but knows he can't kill him by himself. So, he goes back into time, and tries to kill Mangeto when he barely understood his powers. (Would have been easier to kill him as a kid, but I guess he had a conscience)

Professor X sends some X MEN back into time to stop him. He kicks all their butts, and when he goes in for the kill, professor X of the past jumps in the way and takes it for Magneto of the past.

Thus the X MEN never were, his son never was, and so on.

The very next comic, it had the aftermath. Maneto founds the X-Men, which has Quicksilver,Ice Man, Storm, Sabertooth, Rouge. WildChild, Banshee and some others.

Cyclops and Havok work for Mr. Sinister along with Beast.

Wolverine is missing one hand, and is hooked up with Jean Grey, and they lead some para military force.

Angel (not Archangel) is some millionaire playboy, who is good friends with Gambit.

Gambit still loves Rouge, but she's married to Magneto, and he's hitting it.(they have a kid, they explain it all in the comic)

And the only one who knows the truth is Mangeto, and Bishop. Bishop comes from the future and tries to kill Magneto, to take revenge for what has happened. It doesn't happen.

Wow, I used to be a nerd!!!!!!

Wow, I used to be a nerd!!!!!! You're not the only one ;). Actually, despite comics' reputation as a nerdy thing, many of the stories were very good and quite involved. Recent popularity of comics in movie format shows the viability of the stories. And the time-limited movie format means viewers only get to see a small subset of the ongoing plot sagas that comics contain - i.e. the comics are better than the movies. On a tangent, I can't wait until they introduce Venom to the Spiderman movie franchise ;).

I see it has accepting what you are, accepting Christ as Savior, and trying to lead a life with His Life as your guide.

As for the X-Men, I have the X-Men: Alpha, but I still need the Omega book.
