In the beginning of the 21 century;
More people enjoy more political, and economic freedom everywhere.
Eastern Europe is merged with western counterpart. Euro-dollar is the common currency of a united Europe with a single market mechanism.
Russia and her formerly unioned states are together as a federation of both economic and political interdependence. Free elections take place across the fed.
China is more open with its market. More Chinese enjoy economic fruits than ever before in its history of civilization. Taiwan has a democratic system that people may express opinions freely.
No single person may sway the mass one way or the other. When a single person had absolute power, there were the darkest moments in the 20 century.
Yes, there are economic difficulties and political hurdles remained to be challenged.
Overall, people everywhere are doing better.
The current, or the wind of the people is moving forward.
Whoever in power has to recognise this trend and go along with it.
People is like an ocean. The rulers are like dinghy boats.
Always remember to watch the direction of the current and the wind, you may have a good ride or go in the other direction, engulfed by a giant wave and sunk into the depth of the ocean.
Do you think we are doing better?
Do we have good leaders everywhere or not?
In China, Hu will push forward more economic freedom and development. The success of which lies the new power base for CCP, as the Revolutionary old guards graduately disappear from the scene. Mostly passed away.
In Taiwan, the division and difference between the Green and the Blue will slowly wane, and more power to the general population. No single person or a single party has all the power any more.
The love for Taiwan is a recent popular phrase. Sort of micronationalism with a local flavor.
This is an exciting time to live.
All the leaders should realize this and lead everyone into a better and brighter future for all in the 21 century.
:D
