excellent for heart attacks.........

to stay on topic..... i read this...
But when scrawny John realized that he’d need to eat breakfast meals that consist of 12 whole eggs, four packets of plain instant oatmeal, and four slices of rye toast; lunches that consisted of three whole grain bagels, a pound of lean beef, and a huge salad; and dinners that consisted of a full pound of pasta, a few cups of broccoli, and a half pound of lean ground beef, he understood where he was going wrong. And not only did he adopt these breakfast, lunch, and dinner strategies, he began eating five whole grain bagels slathered with natural peanut butter and drinking a couple of liters of protein drink throughout the rest of the day.
Sound absurd? Well, not only does it sound absurd, it looked absurd. But, after two more years, scrawny John wasn’t so scrawny any longer.
As you can imagine, scrawny John was me. Utilizing these feeding techniques, I went from a 5’8" 150 pound guy (at 10% body fat) aspiring to bench press my own body weight, to a 210 pound guy (at 12% body fat) bench pressing 315 for multiple reps.
If you think you’ve "tried everything," think again. You’ve gotta eat big to get big.

...in T-mag..... i'm not trying to put on weight..... but ****..... i don't think i can AFFORD to eat like that....... let alone find the time to cook this much food week after week.......

Yeah, you'll take a lot of poos if you eat like that. You'll also be a hot, sweaty mess from metabolizing all that food. And, your body will become accustomed to being fed a lot, often, to the extent that if you miss a meal for whatever reason you will have very intense hunger pains that may make normal functioning of daily activities very difficult.

fast-food giants have broadened their offerings of salad and other lower-calorie fare amid concerns that the industry could be held legally liable for America's obesity epidemic.

that just sad.

just cuz some fatass can't stop himself from eating fast food ALL the time.

but, I'll have to try that thing at least once just to say I did.

For a good while before I got hurt, I'd been concerned about my weight - at my test, I was an astounding 145lbs. Now, my core lifts were all strong, and I had decent form on the clean and press, but I looked like a stiff wind or a hardy **** would take me off my feet.

Well, I'm no longer injured, and at a stunningly gorgeous 198lbs - down from a high of 208. My core lifts, well, they ain't what they were. But, my main concern is Joint Health. So, I'm focusing on proper diet so I don't drop below 175lbs, and getting my hammies, VMOs, and rotator cuffs/posterior delts blingin' like a crack rock in the July sun.

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, the only thing I can eat is ice cream powdered with chocolate protein, Jell-O brand gelatin, and my own dry blood. I can't open my mouth open enough to swear at the fukcing dentist.

Alas, I remember the Good Old Days: the days when, at 130lbs, I'd go to Wendy's at 11:57pm and order two 3/4lbs and two 1/4lbs, that way I had two full pounds of Wendy's artery-choking goodness.

I fukcing hate icecream.

Indeed. How can someone who claims to have testicles refuse this obviously poisonous meat-like product?

that sucks, dude...everything tastes like blood, rotten blood at that.

When I had my wisdom teeth out my dentist gave me a shot of a steroid in each extraction site. no swelling, minimal pain. didn't have all four out at once but had 2 and 2 done and went to work right after. He said not a lot of dentists did the steroid trick but he felt it worked, and it did.

I took a steroid the night before. The doc said it'd help. I hope it did.

Anyway, has anyone here eaten this 1, 400 calorie heart attack on a bun?

I'm thinkin' that after this jaw works again, I'm going to wendy's for breakfast, and taco bell for lunch.

In the USA, beef is not graded with a letter scale (http://www.snopes.com/food/prepare/badmeat.asp). Snopes owns that rumor.

That is the most beautiful piece of meat I have ever seen.

I WILL beat the challenge.

The first solid thing I can eat is going to be the Taco Bell Bean Burrito. 4 of them.

Now, time to cook my ramen noodles.

I read Iron's link and happened to head out for groceries a little later. If they aren't grading beef with a letter system, then what the heck is "Grade A" and "Grade A choice cut"? I just saw it in the market.

So glad I'm a vegetarian BTW. It stinks over by the meat section. :D

Here's the thing - if we weren't meant to eat meat, then why does it taste so good? Well . . .

Eggplant tastes like eggplant and meat tastes like murder and murder tastes **** good.

Denny's (not to be confused with the national chain restaurants of the same name) offers prizes for customers who can completely consume one of their big burgers within a designated time period: a T-shirt, certificate, and 50% discount for anyone who finishes a Challenger (2 lb. burger) within an hour; a T-shirt, certificate, and 100% discount for anyone who can polish off a Baby Boy (3 lb. burger) in 90 minutes or less; and something special for anyone who manages the unthinkable and puts away a whole 96er (6 lb. burger) in under three hours. (That "something special" has yet to be awarded, as no one has so far successfully accomplished the feat.)

Hmmm... I got a free chocolate shake (or rather, my wife did...I was FULL!!!) by finishing a 3lb burger at a place in CA once. Took me almost an hour... I'm gonna have to check out this place and see whether or not I can put away that 6lb burger...

Sure, we're omnivores. It makes us adaptable. Eating meat's healthier than starving. On the other hand, the way America does it is cruel, depletes the environment, is grossly unhealthy, and is unnecessary.

It's nice to be able to choose, I just want my choices to match my ideals. I'd be a terrible hippocrite if I ate animals because they taste good. I feel much better setting an example for others and making my contribution to a better world. There's really no sacrifice involved when I see it from this perspective, whereas I'd be giving up alot of my identity if I went back to eating meat.

And what's much more tragic, a good bit of the meat these days just tastes horrible.

It's cool that you live the way you do; more people need conviction, and reasons for said convictions. Me, I just need meat. Good, healthy meat. Animal meat. People meat's too **** fatty.

Here where I live, there are farms about where cattle roam freely, grazing on grass and every year you can buy one at a fair to have it butchered. Rather cheap if you consider all the meat you get, and the meat itself is a lot better for you.

Between buying a cow or bull for meat and hunting a deer, a typical family is set for a years worth of meat.

I've been to the local butcher's 'office'. It's not really all that bad. Thing is, I really don't get the same reaction to seeing my food killed, bled, skinned and chopped up as would seeing people get physically tortured, mangled or torn up. Then again, like I said, the local places here aren't 'factory' meat processing plants. And the local farms only have something like a half to maybe 3 dozen cattle total.

It's sad the way animals are treated before and during their slaughter for food.

It's also sad the the best way of relieving your conscience about it is to boycott meat products, rather than the government taking some action to get it sorted out.

My wife has stressed how she could never own livestock in farm for food. She'd get too attached to the animals. I remember watching my grandmother take a chicken, ring it's neck, slice the neck, bleed it, pluck it, all outside, before taking the chicken in to be prepared for dinner.

Every Xmas/New Years, we used to go to my grandparents farm and they'd take one of the pigs, I forget exactly how they'd kill it, but it'd be staked and roasted all day long as part of the feast.

Good food, but yah, a LOT of people wouldn't be eating flesh if they knew exactly what the process was like. My wife has a difficult time eating meats that still LOOK like the animal, such as whole roasted chicken. My kids on the other hand, have inherited my very carnivorous instincts, and have no problem watching or even taking part in the butchering of an animal that we're preparing to eat.

I do agree that the mass meat 'factories' are terrible in the methods used to 'prepare' meat. I'll have to say that there is a VERY big difference between the quality of meat from these 'factories' and the quality of meat in small free range farms where the number of livestock is well below the sustainable capacity.
